What: Transitioning to middle school is a monumental moment in our students' lives. At Urbandale, we want to ensure that your student feels comfortable and confident in their big transition. In the coming months your student will meet new classmates, become more independent, and collaborate with their peers to advance in their learning. J-Hawks on the Way is a transition program designed to introduce students to middle school life in a fun and exciting way!
When/Where: All sessions will begin and end at Urbandale Middle School. Students should arrive at the school at 8:00am for breakfast and check-in. We will leave the school at 8:45 for the Stowe Ropes Course (3516 Dubuque Ave, Des Moines, IA, 50317) and will return to the middle school around 3:30.
Cost: J-Hawks on the Way costs $55.00. Financial Assistance is available for those that qualify. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your elementary FFO or the middle school FFO, Jess Brown. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in the cost of this event.
